Marcasite & Pearl Earrings

I have a special fondness for marcasite and pearls. Our marcasite jewelry is fashioned from sterling silver and embedded with the semi-precious stone marcasite, its sparkle attractively offset by black etching throughout the design. Marcasite comes from the mineral pyrite, a beautiful, metalized stone similar in appearance to gold from which it gets the name Fool’s Gold.

My first wedding ring was yellow gold with black etchings. When the diamond fell out one Thanksgiving, I was devastated. My husband promptly went out and bought me a beautiful new ring but that style of etching was no longer in vogue. I love the depth that these etchings give to both silver and gold. The simple elegance of these genuine pearls has brought me much joy. I stopped wearing them, however, because we no longer carry these earrings, and I’m often asked whether the pieces I wear are available for purchase at the WAR Chest Boutique.
