The word Kantha, meaning "patched cloth", refers to both the tradition of creating something new from discarded scraps of fabric and the distinctive stitching that runs in straight lines through the quilted piece. The craft is native to Southeastern Asia and is a beautiful, eco-friendly way of repurposing something old into something colorfully one-of-a-kind. Our kantha scarves are approximately 70" long and 17.75" wide, and each is unique in its colors and patterns. Each one is handmade by at-risk and rescued women in India, and your purchase supports their livelihood, families, communities, and a hopeful, sustainable future.

Please note: Due to the recycled material with which kantha pieces are made, you may occasionally find a faint stain and/or worn, threadbare patch. This is not a production flaw, it is simply indicative of the fabric's repurposing and characteristic of the craft's origins.
